Finally washed her by hand now that its semi warm out. Inspected the surface damage from winter only found one small chip that is easy to touch up. Going to have to clay and detail it soon being I got it in end of October and missed out on proper protection before winter.

Also waiting on thuren lift with kings to show up ordered at the beging of the month.

Now that I got the Keyless Enter & Go working fully, today I reddened up the truck a bit:

Looks pretty good without the black vinyl B-Pillars!

Next on the list (and last thing for a bit) is to install the Putco Blade. Oh, and I need to fuel her up. I think that'll make me fairly done with messing around. For now.

You need to fix that driver side exhaust tip! Lol

Finished my not so “classified” project of seeing if it’s possible to build a swing out tire carrier that would work with oem gate and components. Is it possible YES is it a pain in the a$$ also YES.
Ran out of gas and wire on the mig welder so ended up doing about half the welding with the ole tig machine which takes me about 10 times as long to do. But I definitely needed the practice.

Well it’s an iPad mini 4.
Reason’s why:
1. Apple car play without wires (can’t do wires and don’t wanna spend $600+ for a radio
2. I only had an RA2 and an RA4/3 is much more expensive
3. I didn’t have to pay fo custom work
4. My phone on my hip automatically transfers calls to iPad
5. $80 gets me a wireless antenna that will put the backup camera on my iPad without moving it. Just touch the app when going in reverse
5. WAZE on a big screen
6. YouTube in truck
7. Email
8. This forum in my truck while waiting for train without taking my phone off my hip
9. Etc etc

I love this. Looks akin to my old Broncos spare carrier. If you get some down time I'd be interested in specs and pics, I will for sure try to replicate this.

The brackets will be the hard part, also had to shim the tailgate over to clear the lower which in turn your tailgate latch will not be happy about.

How solid is it with the swing gate open, I know that's usually when you can tell how strong the mounting surface is. Pretty decent rigidity?

Has about 1/4” sag from the weight of the tire but the bracket hasn’t made contact with the tailgate yet. If it does i’ll have to come up with some sort of bed stiffener

Wonder if you could make a small "L" bracket from that upper inside bolt to maybe the bedside or something. Maybe even a sandwich plate for good measure. Keep it minimally intrusive for the most part.

Are you gonna add a swing stop to keep the tire from accidentally pushing the bed side in, there's always that 1 time the swing gate gets away from you....I lost a window in my xj that way

L bracket may be enough to stabilize it a bit more. I actually bought a T handle spring pin to use as a swing stop but ran out of patience with this project. It’ll eventually get put on just hopefully before it does bite me in the ****.

Spent the morning getting all the inner front bumper parts installed as I had an appointment to pick up the front bumper cover from my painter at 11am. All I have to say is wow! It really changed the front of the truck getting rid of that chrome bumper. Love the look and the quality of the paint job and repair of the front bumper, one hell of a painter! I need to hit the dealer on Monday to get a few more screws for the wheel will liner to attach to the new bumper cover but I have no problem with that. Once I get my white door handles installed I will be very much done with the exterior of the truck. Also got a new Ram Head emblem coming next week, black with a red back ground. It should look cool on there.
