So I searched the forum for a thread like this and didn't find anything. I figured it would be fun to have a thread that everyone can watch what everyone is doing each week.

This week I put on Steelcraft nerf bars, and right now I'm getting the permaplating put on the truck. This way it gets a real good bath.
Had to work most of the weekend but got a chance to to wash the truck, it was way overdue

Truck isn't even a month old, and I've already had the interior out to run harnesses for Remote Start, Keyless Enter-N-Go and Push Button Start. Took me two days (I may be old, but I'm slow). Not sure I'd want to do it again, although I was getting pretty fast by the last door - I had to do the first one twice due to improperly routing the harness the first time, and spent over four hours on it - the last door took about 30 minutes.

Next mod was 1.5" Supreme Suspension spacers. In hindsight, I think 1" would have been closer to the look I wanted, but I didn't want to have to cut my studs. All-in-all, happy with them, and how the truck feels more planted while driving. For reference, wheels are 17x9+18 Rebel-style replicas (OE DG55).

Final mod was to remove and throw away the RAM lettering on my eBay grill and replace with Mopar grille letters. Being a retired industrial designer, the incorrect font bugged me to no end, so that's now fixed. Still need to wire up the marker lights - just need to figure out where to do that so they're only on with the headlights.

Front plate (submariner dolphins) was my Dad's, who was a submariner during the Korean conflict on the SSR-312 Burrfish.

Got tired of being blinded by chrome trim ring on a sunny day. Sanded and painted it Semi flat black. I think it looks much better than the chrome.

Wanted to try to be funny and get the 88,888 miles while doing 88 mph in 8th gear. But sadly it lined up while I was in the parking lot at work.

Then I decided she needed a rinse off and take it for a quick photo op. Sadly the wind wouldn't cooperate and let me get a pic of the flag fully extended. 20210907_230422.jpg

Had my 2 front windows re-tinted. They were done a few years ago, but have given more thought to a darker shade. Had the same place do the work as before, and always have been exceedingly happy with the work they've done on all the cars.

Rear and back were pretty much Limo tint, and finally decided to darken up the front sides another notch. For security, interior protection, and esthetics as well.

Thumbs out to The Tint Pro's here in HB :waytogo:

Did some more interior mods today. Replaced my little hidden tray in the center stack with the pull-out drawer like my '15 2500 had. While I had the panels off, I replaced my switch array with one that has all the Aux switches - harness is ordered and on the way.

IMG_5531.jpeg

I also added the floor console used in some diesel trucks to gain three more cupholders plus two trays. The only down side is that it didn't mate up to the bottom of the pull-out drawer piece and I had to do some cutting to get everything to fit. I'll poke around and see if I can find a closeout panel that will work to cover the inch or two of exposed area under the drawer (can't see it while driving, so no biggie if nothing turns up).

Finally, I replaced the lower half of my jump seat with one that has the extra storage tray under the seat.

Next mods will be the Aux switch harness and a leather steering wheel swap.

Earlier this year I had traded my 2018 1500 Quad Cab Express in for a 2021 Wrangler. About two weeks ago my wife made the comment we should trade her Chevy Traverse in for another truck and when needed she would drive the Jeep since we work the same T-F work schedule. Found a few classics I liked and after some haggling drove home in this new 2020 1500 Tradesman Crew Cab that had all the options plus a few my express didn’t. We absolutely love my wrangler but it’s nice being back in a Ram.
