How do you like the switch panel? i was looking at getting one for my lights as well.
I really like it. It makes wiring in accessories a lot easier since I only had to run one cable into the cab. I used the brackets that came with it. The switch panel sits in a magnetic 3D printed holder. Here's where I installed the controller. Sorry for the dirty engine bay.

Got the Hooke Road bumper installed yesterday. Pretty heavy duty (definitely heavier than stock). Install was pretty easy only took me about an hour to take my old bunper off including disconnecting trailer plug, plate light connectors and airbag valves. Transferred everything over and drilled new holes for airbag valves. Only thing not hooked up yet are the extra lights in the bumper. I'm going to wire them to my reverse lights, just didn't get to it yet. That'll be relatively quick too. Pretty happy with the bumper and like the Chevy style corner steps. Only thing I don't love is that since the bunper sticks out further the exhaust tips aren't out to the end of the bumper cutouts. They're about 2 inches back. I'll need longer tips if i want them out to the edge of the bumper. View attachment 574814
Looks great!
I agree on needing the dual tips poking out past the rear bumper a bit.

More than likely I'll have to cut where the tip meets the exhaust and then add longer tips. The flange that is used for factory won't work for anything other than factory replacement tips which will be just as long, even aftermarket tips made specifically for the Ram.

Can you just cut it before the tips and put a sleeve on to push em out ?

Got an alert that my wiper fluid was low so went to Walmart, got a gallon of the cheap windshield washer fluid. I then added half a cup of 91% isopropyl alcohol to the jug and dumped it all in. Good to go.

I upgraded my compass module to one with Homelink. I also modified a chrome clad 20" wheel, so I was able to IMG_20251027_174726.jpgstore it as my spare under the truck.

Added a Hopkins “Insight” trailer-brake controller, using the appropriate Hopkins jumper-harness to match it to the Ram/OEM.
Used the power washer with the soap-nozzle to clean under the hood and engine compartment.
Added retractable tailgate-step (and previously mentioned adding a tailgate lowering damper and modified the blower-box for cabin air filter.)
Threw out the Weathertech generic floor-mats and installed Ram-specific Huskys. (Wish I’d kept the OEM-Ram mats from the previous truck when the wrecker hauled it off….. and the TrainHorns….)

First two things I always do.... tailgate-step and that lowering damper. Love them both!

I replaced both of my batteries. The batteries were Mopar branded batteries made Nov. 2023.
I just got the mid priced batteries from WM. They are the Ever Start 750 ccs batteries with the 2 year warranty.

They are probably my favorite "mods" I've ever done on a vehicle. The 20 year old version of myself thinks I'm a wuss for wanting them, the 51 year old version of me can't live without them.

I actually picked up one of those bed steps on an impulse only to find it doesn't fit my rear bumper, I should list it here for sale

Spent $50CAD on a used iPad, uploaded my music library, plugged it into the AUX USB port in the RAM's centre console, and shut the lid. No exterior mess, and music is now selectable through the standard radio console menu.

Cheapest alternative to CarPlay you can get!

Bought it! Going to absolutely hate seeing my 96 go, but found too good of a deal through a family friend to pass up.

Did coolant drain and fills. The fluid I drained had either 97k or 107k. Still looked good and ph and freeze protection were still ok, but changed it based on age and mileage. Put in valvoline zerex g05 hoat. From left to right is the first to last drain, with the far right being brand new fluid. . The last two drains there was very little color change. The fluid on the 8th drain was just a hair darker than brand new fluid, which is good enough for me.

The process was easy, just took out the thermostat, reinstalled the gasket, and ran each fill for about 10 minutes to circulate it. Then drain and repeat. Probably could have used distilled water, but premix is easier and Napa had it as a monthly special.
