What did you do with your 4th Gen this week?

I replaced the piece that Deezee says to remove on the opposite side and it seems to close a little better.

I think the trick will be to somehow remove one of the washers on this piece.

Yea I followed it exactly as they wrote in the instructions. It’s basically two pieces that are rubbing. Which are the two ends of the tailgate cable on the driver side.

Did you remove the retainer from the tailgate end of the cable?

I just had an idiot moment fellas. I interpreted the instructions to mean to remove the limiter on the opposite side of the tailgate. I have since corrected my mistake and all is well haha.

Do I still need the cable clip or is that useless? Seems like it will add more bulk

I did remove the limiter and washer initially just on the wrong side of the darn tailgate.

the rest of it is fine. That was the only thing you needed to remove.

Happens to the best of us [emoji23] leave the cable clip on, without it the cable will get wedged in between the tailgate and the strut.

You ain’t lying! I had a White ‘05 LoneStar, 2010 LoneStar, ‘15 Chevy 1500(POS!), and now my ‘17. My wife had a white Mazda 3, Mazda 6, and CX-9, Tahoe, and now a Honda Accord. We’ve owned three other vehicles that weren’t white, two of which were our high school vehicles
