That's not true - in almost all cases they are smaller in all dimensions to save space and weight.

Pulled from Tire Rack's site:

"While some of today's vehicles are equipped with spares that match the other tires and wheels on the vehicle, they are in the minority. Now most vehicles are originally equipped with a "temporary-use" spare tire and wheel that probably differs in size and construction from the other tires and wheels on the vehicle. And some vehicles are even delivered without a spare tire and wheel thanks to the extended mobility provided by modern run-flat tires or temporary repair and inflation systems.

Temporary/Compact Spare tires are physically shorter and narrower than the vehicle's standard tires and wheels. Their smaller dimensions require they operate at higher inflation pressures (typically 60 psi) than standard tires. Temporary/Compact Spares also feature lighter-weight construction and a shallower tread depth than standard tires to reduce vehicle weight, as well as allow more trunk space to be dedicated to luggage. "

I mean as mentioned before, to each their own but I'd take my chances with a wheel that was smaller in any dimension as opposed to being stranded.

No question that it's use would be "temporary" at best. Purpose is to get you to the nearest repair station.

None of my M's even come with a spare.

But again, back to the original question...... " What are most doing who have 35" tires & lift?"

Not very sexy but replaced factory tape that was peeling off with gorilla duct tape. Not sure if it makes a difference or not. Cheap project.

Question for those who have lifted their Ram and have 35" plus tires.....

1. Do you still carry the oem spare and jack?

2. and if you don't, what do you have in place, if anything?

Was looking at mine yesterday asking myself, "... why do I even have this anymore?"

Don't want to go "baja style" either.

Include pics if you have as well :waytogo:
Nope. You have reminded me i need to sell the darn thing. last time i tried to sell the spare in Craiglist i was asking for $90 and nobody called. will try $50 this next time. I took the spare out and also the cable/winch assembly. that facker moves around like chit when wheeling and makes all kind of noises. I went with a matching wheel and tire myself.

What do i have in place ? where to start :) kidding asides i have 3 locations. Don't ask, lol. 2 of them are in the truck bed, 3rd one is a custom swing out carrier when i need the full truck bed.

Open desert location, secured to the bed with Nfab Rapid strap.

Drilled holes in my truck bed to secure the mounts the proper way. This was a 37 btw. This is my preferred setup when im running desert washes around Ocotillo wells or Joshua Tree. It takes the most space in the bed but i have this reserved for Truck beast mode. Trust me when i tell you King is King for a damn good reason offroading Lol.

Daily driver setup, $28 from Amazon, drilled 2 holes in the bed, later asked my muffler shop to tack weld the lower portion just for extra piece of mind. I don't have to strap (orange strap was a test to see if i would like it in there) Typically i don't need to move it from here and i get almost a full bed with it.

All great ideas. I like the swing out as I have a Bakflip.

Oil change. Back to the PUP 5w20 and a Mobil 1 Premium filter with a bottle of Lubegard. I also noticed the intake hose on the K&N was loose, so I clamped that down. She hasn't had a bath in 2 weeks though, so she's a little stinky but she's purring nice.

Got some new tires installed on the truck before winter. Cooper AT3 XLTs 275/65/20, look so much better than the stock Goodyear’s. Interested to see how they preform in the snow this winter.

Love mine ! Rain so far really good. They have great reviews all around so I’m sure they’ll do fine

At 61K. Replaced front brake shoes and front rotors. I was getting a little bit of thumping. The shoes still had plenty of meat on them, so maybe it was the rotors. Anyway, back to peak performance, I used wagner ceramic brakes and wagner rotors.

How about last week? I drove from Ft Worth, TX to San Luis Obispo, CA. and back. 2 .5 days each way. 2nd day, both ways....
the and and the rear traction control light light/bell kept coming on.
Intermittently. Randomly, after about 8 or 9 hrs driving. Drove me nuts. Sitting at the dealer now...
No idea, maybe a module?

Decided to replace the window switch controller, as several of the individual window switches broke off. Quick & easy fix. Went with the "folding Mirror" option now and at a later time I'll add that set-up.

Installed an LED light strip. Was going to install the new smoked tail lights I got, but they sent the incandescent instead of LED. Big sad face.

I need tires so incredibly bad. All 3 of mine on my truck are so incredibly bald that there’s literally no tread left and they look like slicks. Not to mention the front left is wearing so uneven that the inner portion has the metal tire bands showing, but the outside has some tread left.
