Drove a state over to look at a lighthouse coming up for sale.
A lighthouse ?
I must have seen dozens of movies where people move into, or start out living in a lighthouse...none of them ended well

Having said that, if it were given the option of moving into the East channel lighthouse on minusing is jump on it

The one lighthouse page posts about that one on almost a weekly basis.....without seeing it in person, I'm kind of amazed it's still standing.

Turns out the one I went to look at is another one of the old school, tall, skeleton design rear ranges that litter both sides of the Delaware River. The two on the Jersey side are museums (Finns Point & Tinicum, which is still an active aid):

The ones on the Delaware side have been abandoned, sold off or more recently extinguished to be sold off like the one I went to see, which was Reedy Island Rear Range:

There are a few others like this left but only two that I have actually seen, Liston rear range and Bellevue rear range:

Other than the view from the top and possibly making one a tourist attraction (fairly well negated by remote location) there really isn't much you can do with one of these type. No living space, the entire center column is just big enough for the circular staircase and the body that is climbing it.
About 8 years ago I put on a bid on a front range then I came to my senses and was glad I decided to not bid further on....2 miles out in open water and it can get pretty bumpy in that area:

Kinda wish I could've afforded this one a few years ago, this is the original front range light for Liston that was a light integrated into the house: https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/1600-Belts-Rd-Middletown-DE-19709/119383173_zpid/
Ironically the USCG replaced the front range with a simple automated light on a tower and put it literally right in front of the house. The window at the top of the little tower part is where that light used to sit.

that one would make an awesome weekend get away

but i hear you on the waves, i live a few miles from lake Michigan, ive seen waves over 10 feet tall, not something i want to get caught in

in fact, i once tried to go out on 4-5ft waves, the channel connecting my inland lake to lake Michigan acted like a venturi and the 4 footers from the lake were 6-7 footers in the channel
i took one across the bow, hit the bilge pump and tucked tail and ran

Last year(?), maybe year before the same guy who bought Hooper Island light and Wolftrap light bought this one. He has a YouTube channel and a website: The Lighthouse Centers

For a done up caisson style light, Smith Point would be the one to get (still for sale): https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/0-Smith-Point-Rd-Reedville-VA-22539/2105733490_zpid/

That’s a big girl! How’d you like the durabak product??

I think it’s going to hold up as well as any other bed liner I was hoping for more of a smooth finish the roller that they included cause it to bubble then when applying the second and third coats the bubbles popped leaving a dimple they definitely looked bed lined and not painted if I was to do it again I would used a fine foam roller
[/QUOTE]

Was hoping to ask some few years later.. Hows the Durabak holding up?

Air ride is officially in the scrap pile. Everything except the tank got removed from the truck. Ride seems "softer" than the air ride did. But also I feel maybe the shocks are a little soft as far as dampening goes. But it'll be fine. All freedom offroad stuff, front upper control arms, all 4 rear control arms, struts, shocks and springs. I didn't do the track bar yet but it'll get ordered ASAP. Definitely feel a difference in the rear axle, stock bushings were half gone so new stuff definitely helped there. Also finally got my RF Hub and swapped it out, while I had the back seat out I did the folding seat mod after years of putting it off. All said and done I'm really hoping the rear settles down a little. The air ride was set at 3" front and 1" rear lift. I ordered 2" rear springs but they seem taller than that. I'm going to try to dig up old measurements because I'd like to see what needs changed to get the same height/level I had. I almost think the front is lower than before and the rear is higher.

I installed two flushmount led pods in my rear bumper. Just tapped into the middle purple reverse wire on my round trailer plug. Works amazing!!!! Highly recommend it.

Hit 70,000 on my 2017 1500 yesterday on my way home from work. Tried to snap a picture, but driving 75 on the turnpike it came out blurry AF. Never manage to hit milestones when I'm not on the highway. I pulled over on my bike when it hit 10,000 to snap a Pic, but wasn't on the highway.

Well started off as just an oil change. $72 for oil (3 gals T6) and a $17 (fleetgard)filter. On the way to the base auto hobby shop, hell might as well change the transfer case oil Only 2 quarts. The '18 ram manual says not to use the usual ATF+4. Go to the dealership. 2 quarts $105 WITH military discount. That's $210 a gal!!! WTF!
