Not me - but a big shout out to @Loudram. His truck took 3rd place in his class at the Chrysler Nationals in Carlisle this weekend.

Congatulations! :winner_third_h4h:
Thanks for the mention. I was bit surprised at the award. There are always so many nice trucks there. It was great to see you and your brother again.

Pulled the rear wheel well liners on the ram. And they aren't going back. They're another one of those items that look much larger once they're removed from the vehicle.

The well edges are starting to rust (and i suspect the liners may have assisted with that), as are the corners of the right front fender. I'll cut that out and patch them up.

the very back of the frame is showing heavy surface rust, but it's still sound. Overall she's still in really good shape for a 12 year old Newfoundland truck.

I have an 09 with 325,000 miles. I woolwaxed the entire truck since new and have minimal rust. But where I forgot to do was the rockers and those are rusting bad. On my new 2019 Ram truck I took the liners out and sprayed bed liner on the inside along with a coating of woolwax.

That's a good idea. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, as they say.

Long story short, I bought this truck with the intention of selling it in a couple years, although that's not what I normally do. So I didn't worry too much about rust. The dealer also used the rubbery coating, which does more harm than good once it starts to crack.

Another long story short, I've since changed my mind, and will not buy another vehicle without intending to drive it till it's shot. Lesson learned.

Right now, I can't spare the money for anything more than a patch up, but if the cab still shows no signs of rot next year, I could replace the fenders and do a flatbed.
I'm also half tempted to look for a newer 4th gen with no rot, and salvage the good stuff from my current truck, if I can find a deal that makes it worthwhile.

Got rid of the old tin cap OEM lug nuts a six months ago and the chrome turned crappy so new set replaced under warranty1
My mechanic REFUSED to take any money from me for installing the replacement lugs !
Been dealing with that shop since 1990 for a good reason lol

This week, my old 4th Gen (189,000 miles) got front Tow Hooks. Had to cut the plastic insert with a dremel and then bolt them up.

I did have to drill out the guide pin spots on the bumper support because they were too shallow. Also, it took all of my 18mm tools (impact, wrenches, torque wrench, big and little socket drives to get it done. (BTW, I torqued everything to 75 ft-lbs because I had no instructions)

Picked up a used Banks Pedal Monster. Took a few minutes to plug it in a few more to run the wire nice and clean. Reset and recalibrated very easily. My butt dyno is loving the added torque response, lane changes in traffic are effortless. Tried it out at it's highest setting with zero on the launch trim, spun the rears before hooking. I was not expecting that.
If anyone is looking at grabbing a used unit, ignore what type of vehicle it was on previously. Even the part number might be listed as a 61320, as that is what is on the back sticker. Just pay attention to the letter sequence at the beginning, as that is what signifies the plug configuration. I managed to get mine, listed as from a 3.0 diesel, but it was a direct plugin for my 5.7. Look for MLX MX64 6P CFG1.

Hopefully, you can score a deal on a used unit too

Well, last week, but my lifetime Maxcare plan paid off. New transmission and new exhaust manifolds. It sat at the dealer for 3 weeks and 3 days awaiting Mopar decision to cover it then parts to come in.

About $13k of work/parts according to the service writer. I paid $2870 for the plan in 2018 and paid a $200 deductible when I picked it up Friday.

Yes, I know the new transmission probably still has the same crappy valve body and thermal bypass and the new manifolds will probably warp or break again.
