I cant tell what goes here. It could be for a skid plate. Could be for some kind of cross member for HD trucks, I dont know. On the bottom there are threaded inserts.
I would really like to find whatever goes there and mount my air compressor and tank on. Can anybody help me out? Thank you!

Sounds like you may already have the air compressor and tank but Kleinn makes a bolt on OBA kit for the 1500s that bolts on in that area. I have been thinking of adding one myself, not sure if I'll get the optional air horns. :-D

Here’s the bolt thread pattern. Tailor length to your need. My horns went here. 57be4d2005eaeba94203ffd624ee9a71.jpg

Good luck. I use cardboard first. But I am a shade tree rookie!

Fab a bracket with nuts welded on and then slide behind the mount and then you can use the side to mount your angle brackets to. That way you are higher up between the frame rails.

And you could fab you mount brackets the way you want....

Sometimes I get good ideas. The mount bracket was from something I was trying to look up and it was a manufacturer that did it....don't remember who, but I remembered the way it attached to the side where the tow hooks mount.
