When I go into towing guide on the Ram site it shows two options for the 6.7 l or liter both i6 and more towing lbs for the 6.7 liter option. I know the difference with the 6.7 HO and ASIAN option but why is there a third option.

thanks in advance to the answers brand new to the Forum

You could have provided more info like model year, RAM HD series, and a link to the page you are looking at.

Without knowing more, 6.7L and 6.7 liters are identical, the trucks are listed as either long bed or short bed and 2 wheel or 4 wheel drive.

If one is a manual transmission it will be detuned and put out less torque than an automatic equipped truck.

I agree...a bit more info on what you are looking at would be helpful.

Sorry for lack of info, if you go to the Ram web site in the towing page it lets you pick different options. 2019 ram 3500 4x4 Crew cab automatic. Now when you look at engines you will see two options for the 6.7 and a third option for the 6.7 ho. It doesn’t matter what package you choose the towing changes between the two different engine types? Yet they are both 6.7 L i6 Pick one look at the tow then pick the other one and it changes?

4.10 axle 8 foot box premium 4x4 6.7 I can’t see any difference but one can tow 30,190 and the other 21,600

There are two versions of the Cummins for the pickups. There used to be three when they offered the manual trans. There is a third version for the C&C trucks.

The standard output Cummins is paired with the 68RFE Chrysler automatic. The high output is paied with the Aisin automatic, which is rated for higher torque, and heavier ratings. Tow ratings will vary with configuration, and rear gear ratio. SRW 3500 are all 3.73. With DRW you can get 4.10

I understand about the HO version of the 6.7 if you pick automatic there is still three options of the 6.7?

I own a 2019 3500 4x4 dually they list two different 6.7 outside the HO option

It is confusing, I see what you were looking at. I'm mystified they show a manual transmission for the 2019 2500/3500 as a selectable option. Personally, I think the page needs some updating.
