I was changing my throttle body and noticed this connector was not plugged in. It runs to the throttle body, or at least half of it does, so I plugged it in hoping it would fix my throttle body error codes but it didn’t. In fact, it got really hot, so I unplugged it and left it this way after changing the throttle body. Can anyone tell me what that connector is for and if it needs to be plugged in? Sorry if that’s a stupid question, but this is my first time looking under the engine cover after getting it from the dealer and I would find it hard to believe that the dealer saw this and left it unplugged if it shouldn’t be

I appreciate the response. The codes are all automatic throttle system codes. I just wasn’t sure what that connector was and why it would be unplugged

I had the throttle response system codes on my 2019 diesel RAM. It was bad news. The CP4 pump had gone and trashed my entire fuel system. It was a $12,000 repair. It's been in for repair for over a month. Going back to the CP3 pump system. I was told it should be done in the next couple of days.

Why did you not take it to the nearest FCA/Ram dealer where it would have been repaired for Free?

That's a ground connector, and should be plugged in. if its getting hot, make sure the stud is tightened all the way. if it is loose it could be getting hot from excess resistance from the loose connection.
