Hi all. Can anyone help me identify this part? I am planning on having a prerunner-style bumper made for my truck and would like to have a cutout in the skid plate for a light bar. I had my bumper off today to paint my undercarriage and noticed this black plastic piece that extends below the grill (see attached photos). I grabbed my light bar to test fit and discovered that it blocks where I would like the light bar to go and would result in it being off-center horizontally. A quick google search led me to believe that this is a coolant overflow tank. Is this correct? What is its purpose? Is this a non-critical part that can be removed or modified to fit a different way? Is it able to be relocated to a different position in the engine bay? It does not allow me to upload photos with mark ups on them but the piece I am referring to is the weirdly shaped, oblong, reservoir-looking thing. Thanks in advance!

That's what it is. The video is earlier model, but should be the same

Thanks for the info. Doesn't look like it's possible to relocate the stock one. I thought it was much smaller than it actually is. I wonder if anyone has bought an aftermarket one and mounted it in some other place. I guess I'll have to do some thinking on how I want this bumper to turn out.

Get ahold of Matt Fikac at Moes,i think he might have one that you can relocate,or he'll point you to what you need to relocate it,as the guys running a through the grill track intake move it out of the way.

Moe's Performance has teamed up with Legmaker Intakes to offer a carbon fiber intake that not only looks amazing, but gives the sound and performance that we all expect from the Hemi Motor. This kit is composed of hand laid 4" carbon fiber tubing which dissipates heat quicker than both plastic and metal. This intake also positions the air filter down behind the passenger headlight in front of, and away, from the heat generated under the hood.

Another added bonus is that this kit is very easy to adapt to a true track intake setup for the 1/4 mile racers. Simply relocate the coolant overflow bottle, and you have a direct opening to mount a Ram air scoop in the front grille.

Thanks! I'll send him an email and see if we can get something sorted out.

I never heard back from Moe's. I'm gonna pick up one from amazon or Evil Energy. The offer aluminum tanks in either 1L or 2L sizes. Does anyone know the size of the stock tank? If the stock tank is more than 1 liter, is it fine to go a bit smaller with a 1L aftermarket one? It would be nice to be able to tuck it away easier in the engine bay away from things.
