I'd be pissed too.

I understand how crappy you feel. Been there. I spent a lot of time restoring a car years ago between jobs at a bodyshop. I had months of work into this car. Put on one amazing paint job using the best Dupont products at the time. It was show quality, wet-sanded and buffed like glass. Drove 2 hours one Thanksgiving to put it in winter storage at my folks place ....literally 3-4 days after it was finished! Half way I stopped at a gas station to get fuel and take a leak. Car wouldn't restart, seemed like starter was shot. I didn't have any tools and I was running late for Mom's turkey dinner, so I pushed it downhill on a side street and continued home in my DD my girlfriend (now wife) was driving. Came back that evening with spare starter to retrieve it and some fuxxr rammed into the whole side. It had to be intentional by the way it was done. No insurance on that one. I was just devistated. Eventually I bought some different doors and a fender and fixed it. I could tell other stories, but that one pretty much captures the essence. Feels crappy!

There are a lot of people out there who don't respect other people's properly and out of spite and jealousy would rather wreck your stuff than work and save and get their own! Not just cars/trucks either. Probably more of a problem these days. Our laws are too relaxed for property abuse if you ask me.

That's a horrible story. So sorry.

Do they have cameras out in the parking lot? Good luck going forward!

I believe this is the exact reason it happened. My GF mentioned just as we were pulling out that the guy who usually parks there was giving us a really Dirty look. But then she said there is no assigned parking so I didn't think twice about leaving. I know it was him..

No cameras, not allowed. I'll get a few in my truck from now on. I'm beyond pissed, love my Ram, I take good care of it..

Don't get it fixed yet. Take it back to the same spot and park it there all weekend again... but invest in a camera first. Hopefully you will catch him on the second round.

This is one of the reasons I put a dashcam (with rear camera addon) into my truck. Sorry to hear, man. I'd follow Road King's advice, just be aware of your state's laws regarding recording others. Some states don't care, others allow you to record video but not audio, etc.

Had a similar (although not as bad) situation this summer with my 2017 C43 AMG. Take it to July 4th party on my wife's side of the family and sure enough it ends up scratched (looks like someone rubbed their jeans back and forth on it). I'm sure it was intentional because for years we always get grief about driving a Mercedes, wearing 'fancy' clothes (not sure how a polo shirt is fancy, but....), using words with more than 2 syllables, etc.

There are just waaaay too many lazy, worthless, entitled people out there that absolutely HATE anybody who is successful and has nice things. Nobody handed them a new truck, car, boat, house, etc, so why should anyone else have something nice? Every LOSER has an excuse (Bad parents, never got a break, too short, too heavy, grew up in a bad neighborhood,blah, blah, blah) and nowadays they all have a bunch of fellow LOSERs that join them in protests to blame their problems on everyone else (Black Lives Matter, Occupy Wall Street, Antifa, the list goes on and on). On one hand all these LOSERs makes me concerned about this country's future. On the other hand, these LOSERs will be my daughters competition for jobs and financial security, so she should have it made!

I got my truck back from the body shop all painted. What was supposed to be a week turned into a little over 2 weeks without my truck. The upside was they ended up painting more instead of buffing. Not fantastic pictures but here it is. Not to worry, I haven't forgotten who caused this..karma will find him. After looking at these, be I really need to raise that front end.

Sorry to hear about that. People have no respect for other people’s property. Sucks, but it is the world we live in . I’m glad you got it taken care of and the truck is looking good again. You are right about Karma, they will pay for it one way or another.

Thanks, I'm really happy with it. They ended up painting every panel except the hood, roof, and tail gate.. I'll call that basically new again. I'm sure I'm the best looking 2011 or 7 year old truck in my area [emoji16]
