Hey all,

Newbie question but I damaged my lug nuts on my 2011 Ram 1500. What size of lug nuts do I need to replace the factory ones?

TIA

You might want to call a service department to be sure cause sometime right around there they switched from standard to metric. The metric is a M14 x 1.5, and the standard was a 9/16-18. My '10 Ram had the 9/16 and I know they switched them somewhere around that year.

"Should" is a scary word when ordering parts, lol. Still wouldn't hurt to call the dealer to verify, nothing worse than ordering the wrong crap and having to send it back.

From what I can find, I believe later 4th Gen 13-17 switched to M14 x 1.5 cone style. There are 2 additional differences for M14s: bulge vs non-bulge nuts. As to which our trucks run is beyond me.

Can anyone elaborate if our trucks run the bulge or non-bulge nuts?

I think it's the bulge nuts (no pun intended). I think this because I removed one of my lug nuts off my stock wheels and tried to insert them into the Black Rhino rims I just got, and it don't fit cause of the bulge at the bottom of the lug nut.

Now I am in a scramble to find out which lug nuts will work on my new rims. All I know is that is has to be the M14 x1.5 cone style. Any Black Rhino rims owners out there that can help me? Thanks!!

I can't say to lug nut size, just take one of them to a bolt supplier (Fastenal comes to mind) and have them size the threads for you. As far as lug nut -style-, a lot of the rims that I have been looking at to replace my stock rims specify a cone head with spline sides. Yes, you need their spline adapter to get the lugs on and off but a regular lug nut and socket won't fit into the rim holes...
