I have a 2013 qc ram sxt and it has a flat black piece of plastic as the upper bumper. It drives me nuts that it does not match the rest of the paint. Just wondering any ideas what has been done to replace or disguise this piece

Could always paint to match. Your truck solid or two-tone?

Paint it yourself give it a shot. And if you hate it have it professionally done.

That's my philosophy. Try something. If I mess it up get a professional lol

I really do not get why they do not have them color matched on every truck they sell!

to lower the cost

to the original poster, since it has a texture to make it smooth you would need to do a lot of sanding, use a high build primer and then lots of more sanding. I am no way an expert about this, but know a painter that said this

The bumper pads don't have a really heavy texture, but I think you'd still be better off getting a bumper pad for an SLT (whatever) that is paint ready, and get it painted.

The Dark Blue has a pearl to it, which I've never seen even CLOSE to matching out of a can. Save yourself the headache, pay upfront and be happy with the results for years to come.
