What torque spec?

In the digital age why are guys not using torque specs and why is everything impacted on with zero care?
When the instructions say premature bushing failure this is literally what they mean

I don’t get why you would keep tightening a rubber bushing until the metal washer is touching the metal part. Ouch is what that rubber was screaming

There should be a metal bushing in the center of the rubber that limits the bolts travel and holds the bolt tight. That is just old swollen rubber.
