So, every time i turn my wheel left or right while moving there is a noise coming from the wheel. Its hard to explain the noise but it happens every single time I turn the wheel left or right. I don't know if its ball joints or u joints or what.

How can I tell if I need new ball joints? Do they make a sound?
And how can I tell if I need new u joints?

Basically, what would be going bad or breaking in my suspension to create noise when turning my wheel and moving forward. Im trying to get my whole front end corrected. I have an alignment tomorrow and today I order my steering box stabilizer. So next order of business is to figure this situation out. Help! lol

I was thinking tie rod ends since it is making that noise. I would have a shop look at it and tell you what is wrong.

I tried the ball joint test and I didn't have any play which is why I was confused. How are those to replace?

ball joints aren't too terribly bad as long as you have air and plenty of knocker loose or pb blaster.. the axle nuts are whats worse in my opinion ( i'm assuming 4wd) now that being said you don't HAVE to take the hub assembly apart from the front axle shafts but its a pain trying to be careful enough to take it all out without messing up those axle seals. also as a side not any reputable shop will do a front end shake down before putting it on the alignment machine if not also doing a test drive. the front end shake down tests the components to see if they are worn beyond safe use for alignment this protects their reputation and can possibly earn them more business and makes their job more thorough. the only true way I know of to test the bjs are to jack each side up one at a time and put a jack stand on it.. then use a long pry bar between the ground and the tire and work it up and back down to see if there is any movement in the bjs.. while you are there try turning the wheel back and forth (as if that wheel is turning left or right) and see if there is movement this can point to either the hub bearing assembly or the tie rod ends.. and that is pretty much the same as a front end shake down..

Ok cool! I heading up to the shop for an alignment in an hour so I will ask them if they can just check over my front end. I really want to get everything figured out by winter cause in kansas we could get 2 inches of snow or we could get 2 feet of snow and I really don't wanna find out how long I can go with something not breaking. lol I just order my steering box stabilizer so that should help my wobble and wander problem but I really need to figure out what is making that noise. I don't think its ball joints cause there is really no play at all if any. Ill see what the shop says. Hopefully its not going to be an expensive fix! lol

Bass.....one important thing I did't see or notice in your post......what kind of noise is coming from the front end when your turning, poping rubbing.....Does it happen when in park or when the truck is moving???

The noise is more of a higher pitch popping sound than anything else. Its really hard to explain lol It doesn't do it while stationary but rather when I'm moving, both drive and reverse and only when I am turning the wheel. And its usually at low speeds to.

Gonna have to agree on the axle shaft u joints. On mine when the truck was moving and I hit a bump it sounded like the front end was trying to go on vacation and leave. Shook the front end down and found bad sway bar end links. Wouldn't hurt to check those while you're down either. Lol good luck.
