Hi, I'm a first time owner of a Dodge Ram. Forgive me but I just don't know a whole lot about them, but I'm trying (hence, why I'm here). I'm trying to get insurance on my truck & the insurance company asked if my truck is lifted and I don't know the answer to that. They said they won't insure any truck with more than a 4 inch lift. Every site or YouTube video says the same thing, measure from the bottom of rim or middle to the fender edge. I did that & it measures 35 inches in the front & 34 in the rear. But that can't be right, that's a lot more than 4 inches. There's something I'm doing wrong and I don't know what it is. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

If you take a picture of the front of your truck, down low where we can see the chassis it would be really easy to rule out whether you have a lift of 4 inches (or more) vs. any lift less than 4 inches.

All 4+ inch lifts will necessarily have a subframe to drop the front axle assembly or the lower control arms if 2wd. No subframe = less than 4" lift.

Also your bio thing shows a 2006 truck is that what you have? That's a 3rd gen truck, you posted in the 4th gen forum. Might have more luck in the 3rd gen category :)

I appreciate your reply, kurek. I am straight up beginner level, I had no clue I was in 4th gen forum. I guess I'll look for answers there. Thank you!!
