You youngun's probably don't know but the extended cab Dodge's came out in the early 70's.

I know that and the crew cabs came out in the late 50’s early 60’s. My favorite crew cabs are from the 70-80’s (gen 0)

Going from a Megacab to a crew cab was hard enough. I could not use a quadcab with my family.

Kind of surprised Ram is still making them.

I miss my 3rd gen quad cab. I'd look at quad over crew again on the next one.

Don't want the kids or other guests to be too comfy back there.

Shoot if I didn’t have to haul kiddos around I’d go with a reg cab or quad cab. They def serve a niece purpose. Room and not huge

My quad has never really felt too small. Still more room than the back of most cars.

I agree, for where I’m at and what I need a Quad Cab suits just fine, can sway passengers and if need fill it full of tools, no problems.

That isn’t to say if I could have found the truck I wanted in crew cab I would stick with quad, I wouldn’t mind the extra storage lol, but I was more concerned with a few other factors. (4x4, EcoDiesel, etc etc)

With the new crews being 4" longer i'd like to see if the new quads are also 4" longer making them nearly as big as the 4th gen crew. May have to go sit in the back of one.

I'm on my third Ram Quad cab. The 5th gens appear to be about the same as 4th gens, although they are a lot more comfortable.

yep, called crew cab. Forest service had a ton of them up in Washington, Idaho, and Montana. Built them until 1980. Next club cabs came out in 1997, then quad cabs, with the sucide door came out in 1998. Regular quad in 2002 - bought the first one of one of the dodge lots here in Feb 2002. with the new 4.7L motor.

Yeah, the QC may be out in '19 MY, but they don't make the RamBox yet for the 6'4" bed (which comes with QCs). So, if you go QC, you cannot go RB. For now at least. Somebody feel free to contradict me with evidence, I've been waiting to order from the factory a Laramie QC w RB ever since the '19s came out, and all I get is they don't make RBs for the 6'4" yet. And no telling me when they will either.

View attachment 142462 1973 dodge club cab. We've come a long way baby.

Dodge was first in a lot of cab designs. First with an
Quad cab
Extended cab
Crew cab
Mega cab

Ford and Chevy we’re both dragging ASS in all 4 of these cab designs and neither attempted to make anything like a Mega cab.

Just goes to show
Dodge/Ram is first in a lot of categories.
We may not be first in sales yet but the stupid people are catching on that Ram is the best and leading the way in other areas.
Ohh BTW no other manufacturers have anything close to the Hemi as far as a stock production motor that’s being used in more than just 1 application.
