When do you actually use your front grille bar lights?

I am a fan of the Hella type front grille bar lights. Unfortunately we have to put on light covers on them and we can't use them. So it seems to be a "looks thing" only. Unless I am missing something.

When do you use them? Besides just for a test run in the woods once in a million years.

Granted, I have my lights behind my grill, but I use them constantly, as either **** ME OFF lights, or as high beams...

Anytime there aren't oncoming cars no matter how far, or there aren't any in front of me driving the same direction.

Or whenever someone refuses to turn their high beams off. It's funny how quick they turn them off when I hit the lights.

I've got a similar problem in my state but I run the grill-type covers so they're covered yet still allow light out when I turn them on.

I have a friend that had to tape cardboard over his lights to pass an inspection...haha. I would not pt covers on mine though. I do alot of driving at night on the beach, so all the extra light possible is a big help.

Was that here in Texas? I had no problem passing inspection with mine in August.

also to get the left lane bandits to move over!
