I believe that email notification went away with VOTS.

I've had 2 new ram 1500s this year that I ordered(long story) and was told I would get email updates both times and never did. My salesman would send me updates once in a while. They weren't accurate. The arrival date on truck #2 was a week off.

ah yes trying to understand Logistics... I got the run around with my Subaru. At least these trucks come by train and can be tracked. I was given the run around for a month as the car was made in Japan and was at sea for about 18-20 days, once it reaches YOUR port it then goes through the process you guys deal with. Soo I guess what Im saying is.. it could be a lot worse.

Well, someone on the other site is cool enough to do it for eveybody like tripower says. Im not sure how they are getting access. My truck is status D right now which is this below, but how do you get your whole vin:

D - Firm order. Your order now has a name instead of a number: A VIN! Materials should have been ordered by this point if all goes well, you should have a truck.

Dated 3/19 Thursday is when the dealer submitted the order. I just spoke to ram customer service through the live chat on their site and asked about the vots. They said it is being worked on and there is no eta of when it will be fixed yet. But, they will check status for you also if you give them the info

CC - When did you place your order? I'm still waiting on my VIN.

Both. If I find something that seems like a good deal, I'll get it. Most likely won't Though. If I do see something at a dealer I'll work with the one that ordered for me cause I like them. But I've been searching for months. I think I've covered every option. Unless I find something used That is.

Here is email I got regarding vots:

Dear Chris:

Congratulations on your 2015 Ram Truck order!

We regret to advise that you will not be able to utilize our Vehicle
Order Tracking System (VOTS) to track the progress of your recent order
as the Vehicle Order Tracking System (VOTS) website is no longer
available.

We would be happy to provide you with an update regarding the production
progress of your new Jeep, however, we will require the last 8
characters of the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) in order to do so.
If you do not have the last 8 characters of the VIN, we will require the
8 numbers of the Vehicle Order Number (VON). Once we have obtained this
information, we will be able to provide a precise response.

You are always welcome to reply back to this email and we will respond
back to you as promptly as we can. If you prefer, you can also call us
directly with your questions at the Jeep Product Information Center by
calling 1-877-426-5337.

Thank you for your email, Chris. Have a great day!

Sincerely,

Nicole

Has anyone dealt with locking in incentives available at time of order? I called Chrysler directly and they confirmed that is the case if the truck is ordered in my name. My order confirmation sheet says Sold to/Ship to dealer and that customer is my name. Hopefully that is enough. Dealer says once they get a VIN we can finance and get the current 0% deal. However, if May's deals are better I can wait and lock in either depending on which is better. I had to inform the dealer of that last part so I am a bit leery to wait.

Placed an order 3/14 and found out from the dealer's website inventory that a truck with my exact build is in transit. Dealer later confirmed that it is indeed my order with an eta of 4/20. I'm pleasantly caught by surprise as I need to rent a car and drive 3 hrs to get it. I was expecting 6-8wks. Like expecting parents, we tend to be more up to date with our new "baby" and sure enough, such was my case in this instance.

Ordered: 1500 Laramie 4wd,LSD,3.9axle, bench,spray in bed,park sense,tow packag,protection package.

Anxiously awaiting. Got my cigars ready.

I have been having to emai/call my sales guy for updates. He to.d me they took down the ability for the customer to track down their built trucks because it was causing heartache when the info was bad, trucks delayed, etc.

I spoke to my sales guy two weeks ago tomorrow and my truck had been on order for three weeks at the time. He said it was still waiting to be built. I then spoke to him last Wednesday and the truck was built and sitting in the rail yard (I assume) in Illinois waiting for a train to Utah. I will call him again tomorrow for an update and hope to hear it is at least in UT waiting for a truck to Idaho. A lot happened in just one week from in line to be built to sitting in Illinois.

Good luck with your build. I lucked out, 30 days from order it was shipped from plant. I was really lucky
