To sum it up if you didn't see my intro, new to the forum, I have an 06 SRT10 QC converted to t56 6-speed and other goodies ive had since feb/12, just got passed down my dads 05 1500 SLT QC. Not to sure where to start or who the good vendors are. As far as performance not looking to do any more then bolt ons. Plan on raising it, rims tires, blacked out look (Grille, lights, rims, etc). My question is where do I start? Im bone stock right now. Thanks - Matt

Well, luckily you have arguably the best year for tuning. If you're sticking with just bolt ons, then programmer (Superchips 3865, 3950 or Vivid, all available with trans tuning), some form of better air intake and a good exhaust system. If you end up wanting to custom tune it, the Diablo is the way to go (7137, T1000 or InTune). I figure you get your speed kicks from your 10, so not gonna go all out on the 05?

Any suggestions on intake and exhaust with headers, cats or no cats, or anything else bolt on? Pulleys etc? Yea I get speed out the 10 pulling 495rwhp, so I'm just looking for a little more balls with this. want to do a lift to not sure on height probably 3 inches

I did 6 inch suspension with mine and im happy. If I were u I would do lift wheels and tires first that way when you start on performance you can feel the difference. I would hate to do performance first then lift it and feel a loss in power but thats just me

One or both of the RF two preferred vendors you need to talk to:
Either way:
Moe's Performance or,
Bully's Performance------------>>>>

These guys will point you toward the right progression of mods for your taste and wallet.

Neither group pushes crap you don't need and they're both RAM owners. Happy mod'n! :buffer:

By the way, I'm jealous as $hit you have two RAMs to play with. I hope that getting passed down your Dad's truck doesn't mean he isn't
around any longer. If he's still kicking, make him buy the beer and let the truck be a mutual project.

Intake there are so many out there, it's personal preference. Shop around. Most of them boil down to whether you want a quieter intake like stock (keeps the hat/silencer) or loud (gets rid of the hat silencer).

Exhaust, always good to do the whole thing if you have the $$. LOL I didn't have the $$ (still working on it). Pacesetters seem to be the most popular ones, your choice if you want to go LT's or shorties. With the cats, depends on NY's smog laws (lived there for 2 yrs but I never got a vehicle inspected so I don't know).

Wouldn't bother with a pulley really; there are some out there, but I honestly don't think it will make much difference on your mostly stock engine.

Honestly the biggest kick in the pants on these trucks comes from a gear change (4.10, 4.56's) and a converter swap. I'm not including nitrous or forced induction, just sticking with NA/no power adders. I got the gears first (I actually swapped in a D60 from a QC SRT because I wanted a stronger rear, those gears and the matching brakes to go with the ones up front), then the converter after I blew the trans. Big difference.

Pops is still kicking, he just got a new 2013 Ram 1500 so he just passed the old to me. I am probably going to start with just intake and full exhaust, going to go with long tube headers, I have bellangers in my 10, I guess I will look into what's out there. Need to learn more about lifting before I get into that still not sure on height would like to do 6 but are their any down sides? That's a good idea switching to an SRT rear I will talk to my SRT vendors about that. Thanks for the ideas

If you switch to a D60, make sure you get a QC rear, the RC rears are undersprung (which wouldn't go well with your lift plans). This will also require a custom driveshaft, either a 1 piece aluminum or you can weld in the perch for the carrier bearing like your SRT has and go with a stock style 2 piece. I opted for the 1 piece aluminum; my trans will break before the shaft or rear does.

I had to get a 1 piece for my SRT when I did my swap, going to switch from aluminum to carbon fiber at some point. First step now is to take her to the body shop next week and get some little dings fixed up then I will start ordering some parts. Thanks for the advice, going to contact bully's shortly
