Where's my "zip" gone?

Had my 2012 6-speed 3.55 since around January 2015 and for the last couple of months I don't feel like it's accelerating as quickly as it did when I first got it. I don't know whether this is just placebo from getting used to it though. I'm not sure how to describe it exactly, the best way I can come up with is to say I just feel like I have to punch it so that OD kicks in when I want to accelerate, because under just normal acceleration it just doesn't feel like the 'pep' is there. I notice this especially coming from a full stop. It only had 30k km on it when I bought it and it hasn't had a lot of miles put on it the last 6 months

This is normal for every gas powered motor. Hot, humid air will always make a vehicle run slower. When it comes to 1/4 mile drag racing, we always run about a half second slower in the 1/4 mile in the summer than we do in the winter. Colder air is denser air, and that will always make more power.

Also you answered part of your own question. As you get more and more used to it, it seems to feel a bit more docile after a while. I'm to a point now where my truck feels normal with my mods, and when I drive a stock one its like there's a dumpster being dragged behind me.
