We have a 2020 1500 Limited. We love the truck. The Ram website says that cargo capacity is 1840 lbs for my truck. The 1840 lbs is basis for my buying decision BUT now that I have the truck the yellow sticker in the drivers doorway says that the Maximum cargo capacity is 1086 lbs. I bought truck based upon the Ram website information.

We tow a 30 Airstream Flying Cloud. GVWR is 8800. My tongue weight is 1140 lbs. I felt like we would be OK payload wise with 1840 lbs of capacity. Near capacity, but I wanted a 1500 as a daily driver.

We have ProPride hitch and truck tows it well enough for a 1500. I am very concerned about load capacity. I feel like Ram has really not been truthful about what I was sold.

I appreciate your thoughts and recommendations.

Unfortunately, the sticker on your truck is correct.

Yep mine is 1090. The sticker is the ultimate number. If you go to

https://www.ramtrucks.com/towing-guide.html and click look up my vehicle, drop in your VIN. This will match your max Towing and Payload

1090 payload and 10990 towing for my limited.

This is one of the reasons I ditched the Dutchmen Denali 289RK and got a smaller trailer. Because the payload is so low on the Limited due to all the fancy stuff. You must have looked at the MAX 1500 Payload and not your specific truck.

But you are going to be WAYYYYY over with that trailer.

Sticker. Website only shows the max possible for the truck. GVWR - Actual curb weight = payload.

FYI all manufacturers advertise this way. Always have.

That trailer is too much for a half ton even if your payload was the max, over 1000lbs TW is 2500 territory.

And I am pretty sure the ED is way down on towing vs. the Hemi, unless they fixed that.
