Alright boys, the tint is on my vehicle and it looks fantastic. So my next step is to add LED's as my low beams on my 2014 Big Horn. That being said I have read and I am sure everyone is aware that there is a "decoder" problem in some of the models.

I am sure someone on this forum has figured a set up that works and I am hoping that info gets shared by posting on this threat. I am not looking for any type of projector system. This is LEDs in the Quad Holegon housing.

Once I figure it out the product will be ordered! :happy107:

HIDs will give you more output than any current LED on the market.

We have kits for the 14 Ram here - 2013-14 Dodge Ram HIDs

Most popular is the 35W, 5K H11 with canbus adapters (for your setup). And.....they can all fit inside the lights with some trick stuffing of parts (LOL)

Do you have any LED ones? I found Opt 7 that is plug and play. The worry I have is the Canbus. I know HID is better and Ill go that route if i need to but from my experience they are not as reliable as LED. Ill pour another drink and look into this lol

I think reliability comes from manufacturers. EBay special bad. Morimoto good. From my experience at least. Plus your truck has the picky canbus so you need a proper relay harness. Retroshop is the place hands down.

Love my Opt7 LEDs, the pic is my lows and fogs. I'll take them over HID's anyday

True.

I've had good luck with eBay hid kits in the past. I've ran a few on my off-road vehicles as well as my ram has an eBay kit in the fogs that have worked flawlessly for well over a year now.

My retro kit works good as well.

I used the opt7 led's in my last car, so I went with them in my new 2016 Ram. Got them installed last night and I'm happy with them. No, they aren't quite as bright as HID's. But they are brighter than the stock lights, and look awesome... No error codes yet. In my last car I ran them for over a year - 30,000 miles and they were on all the time (DRL's) and never had an issue. I hope the new ones in my ram will be as trouble free, especially since I will have this truck for more than a few years!

Good to know this is a good product. Ill have mine installed sometime this week (currently working nights). I also ordered the Silverstar signal markers. I love how they have the multi color affect when they are off.

Do you get bright lighted from other cars? That happened all the time to me with my HID so I'm looking to change to something else.

Thanks

Hid in reflector dishes provide lots of scatter and blind people. I expect led to do the same. Ideally you want it in a projector. Much more focused elevation wise yet broad enough to light up the ditch.

There is a way to mount the LED's that makes a difference in output. I remember reading it in one of the OPT7 threads. You mount them either vertically or horizontally for the low beams, and the opposite for the fogs. I just can't remember which was which. I want to say the LED's were placed horizontal for the low beams.

Here is halogen vs 50w hid in reflectors. There is minimal glare, much of this glare was actually light reflecting off the garage and grill.

This setup, I never got flashed unless going over a hill and people are under the cutoff.

35w hid glare was even less.
