Hey there guys I was wondering why people would possibly lift a and make a mud truck out of 2x4? Are there any advantages or it's just for looks?

I have a buddy with a 95 GMC 2wd and we put a 6 inch suspension and 3 inch body and he sits as tall as my stock 97 ram 2500. Yes it looks much better but there are advantages to it other than looks. He personally has the nicest 95 GMC I've ever seen with only 60k miles and he uses as a truck but wants to keep it nice so all that lift keeps his body away from anything in the road or on the trail also working underneath is a really nice now with some elbow room. As for my personal opinion there is no downside to lifting a 2wd so why not they are really cheap to do and look great.

well, 2x4's are lighter and it depends what kind of tire you have or transmission or engine the straight 6 4.0 jeep engines are notorious for this and i've seen first hand a 4x4 jeep in 2x4 mode go over trails and mud better than a K5 blazer 4x4
