Not sure about a 2006 ram 1500 but will it fit a 285 75 17 tire want to sell my old set to a friend an not sure if they will fit under his stock 1500

I know they wont fit under a 2nd gen 1500...265 is about as tall as you can go without a level.

Thats what I thought he has 265s an they look small but ... 285 look to big an I don't want him to get them mounted an not fit ..it's a guy I work with

285 is the width not the height. If the 06 1500 is leveled they will fit no problem.

The diameter comes out to about 33.8 inches. If this is any help.

It should fit fine. I have an 08 with 33 inches. I think you can go up to 34 inches fine in a gen 3.

Anything more and you need a level.

Guys 285's don't go over 33" mounted.

I believe it does.

285mm x .75 = 213.75mm / 25.4 = 8.4in x 2 = 16.8in + 17in = 33.83in.

unless there is no such thing as 285/75/17...

And unless I am missing something, please correct me if I am wrong I don't want to give him the wrong information.

That's because you have an 02...in 06 they switched to IFS and tires wider than 285 will rub without spacers
