I have a 14' 4x4 1500 and leveled it 2.5". Love the look with no rake, hate the Goodyears that came with it. Wheels are 20x9. I was thinking about getting larger tires, specifically 35x12.5x20. Can these fit on my wheels/wheel well with my current setup? I found a guy that has some pretty decent Discoverer S/T Maxx and only wants a couple hundred for them. Rubber that is on the wheels right now maybe has 6,000 miles. Figured I could sell them and get a more aggressive tire....I know I'd have to replace them in about a year and a half vs 4 years with my current tire.

Thoughts?

Can't comment on fitment, but no way I'd be getting rid of tires that had only 4K on them for tires that only have 4K left in them.

Its not necessarily terrible to buy used, but there are some helpful guides online what to look for. Things besides tread like wear pattern, the date they were manufactured, patches/plugs, etc. Also recommend buying a depth gauge if youre looking to buy used. Theyre so cheap its not worth using the penny/quarter test anymore, get an accurate reading.

Also, if its a couple hundred, and you want them, just buy them and keep your tires. You will get some life out of those for a cheap price, and when theyre done you have the option to put back the originals or buy more. Kind of a win win if you think about it.

Also, larger tires have a tendency to go "out-of-round" as the get worn down and get abused, they'll become almost impossible to balance. Those don't really show any signs of being run unbalanced from what i can see in the picture (though maybe a tad over-inflated), but it's something to be aware of. Make sure there are no plugs - patch plugs are ok, though if a tire needs a plug, it's usually a pretty substantial wound and there may be issues with belts being broken. Inspect the beads for any damage, sidewalls for cracking and/or indications of rubbing or blisters. Any sidewall damage at all, run away. If you look closely at the bead area, you may actually be able to tell how much weight was applied to balance them and that might give you some idea about the health of the tire as well. Make sure there's no sign of fix-a-flat being run in them. The insides should be dry and clean and smell like rubber, not sickly sweet.

I'm not the biggest fan of big tires, especially used.

Depending on your trucks gear ratio, the 35’s will make your truck sluggish. I had to change to 4.56 when I went to 35’s. They will also rub possibly without an offset.

Yeah 35 will fit with a level but those look a bit smooth I’m sure you can find a little better than that

You may find yourself needing spacers to keep from rubbing.
