That type did not work when I did mine. You need the type with two arms and L-shaped hooks.

The type I used (rented from Autozone) looked like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Performance-Tool-W80651-Steering-Remover/dp/B000N37EFS

I had to use a deepwell socket as a spacer for the screw.
