Will this unit work for my 2012 1500?

It will work but you will need the sirius module if you want satellite radio.

you will also need a wire harness to integrate into factory connectors

this is probably a dumb question,
but what do you have in your truck now?
Radio code should be in the lower right corner on the face of the radio.

Do you have any steering wheel controls, etc?

You might want to try Crutchfield Car Selector
and see what is available to fit.

ETA: You could also go OEM, buying a 430N radio and uconnect harness on ebay and install it yourself.
You would need to go to the dealer to have them flash the computer to activate.

I swapped out my 130 RES radio for a 430 RBZ touchscreen. (Non-NAV unit)

I bought the alpine unit + the Siriusxm radio receiver. I got my car audio guys in my town handling the install next month. Was cheaper than the quoted price from the dealer @ $2300 + labor.

$500 for the unit, $80 for the Receiver, and $900 for 4 Alpine speakers, 445U Alpine Amp, and labor.

The trucks radio is whatever comes stock with the 2012 1500 Ram ST's. I've got the complete v8, towing, chrome, and every other package, but since I bought the truck pre-built from the Ram warehouse as a canceled order I was unable to get the radio upgraded before I pick up my truck.

I don't know what radio is stock.
Probably the RES,
but it does not matter since you already made your purchase.
Congrats on the unit, I am sure it will sound awesome. :)

I like the UConnect voice recognition -
I am old, the technology amazes me.

When I was your age, I had a '68 GTO with an 8-tracks player. lol

ETA, jokes on me,
that car is worth a fortune now... :(
