Window tint opinion

Getting my windows tinted this weekend. Plan to do 5% on rear window 20% on all 4 doors 5% brow and 5% on the sun roof. I'm going 5% on the back because my youngest faces that window and sun really hurts her eyes. Anyone have this set up? How is night time driving? Also the 5% on the sun roof to help keep heat out.

I have 5 percent all the way around and 15 percent on my whole windshield. I can see fine out of mine when backing up. I use my camera some but always check and don’t rely 100 percent on my camera

I would love to go that dark all around but the cops near me would have a hay day. As loud as my truck is and the wheel and tire set up going on they already will have enough to be a PITA lol.

Haha it is pretty amazing. I live in Florida and got my dr to sign a medical tint exemption. Been pulled over 3 times or so and just showed them my exemption. But don’t worry going 5 on back you’ll be fine. People who don’t have it will say it’s way to dark and you can’t see.

Should be ok with that. 20% on the doors is easy to see through, i would love to tint my windshield a bit to help with glare, But its illegal now in Ontario after 2017.

Each state has different medical exemptions, here’s an excerpt I found about Ohio.

With medical exemption you are permitted to tint front side windows down to 35% VLT. Entire front windshield can be tinted to 70% VLT, and top 5 inches (AS-1 line) of the windshield can have 35% VLT.

Haha see Florida has no limits set with the medical exemption. I’ve had 5 percent on my side windows on all vehicles and never gotten a tint ticket. But once I did the windshield I instantly got pulled. But had the exemption. I just got my wife’s jeep Cherokee blacked out too. Here’s a pic.

Haha it makes it look like a whole different vehicle. Not sure if it will work for you but my dr put I had photo phobia and it’s now in my medical records for life.

This is from the medical tint form from Florida.

“which requires a limited exposure to light and which qualifies the person, pursuant to section 316.29545, Florida Statutes, to have sunscreening material on the windshield, side windows, and windows behind the driver, and is exempt from sections 316.2951-316.2957, Florida Statutes.”

I remember the days I could tint... Lol... The law changed in NY, Big Brother basically put the liability on the state inspection shops. You can't pass inspection with anything darker than 75% (or some ridiculously light tint). The result is all the tint shops give a 20% discount on re-tint if they remove it for inspection..

Once again, normal people being punished for the crimes of a few ass hats...
