thats funny i replaced my speakers in my truck (same exact year and model as yours) and when i hooked up my new speakers i had no sound in that driverside rear door. This was all while the door was open then when i was testing out all the speakers with the door closed the sound came back.
But it comes in and out when the door gets opened sometimes, i havent looked further into it but thought it was funny i had almost the same problem in the same exact truck

I had no idea this would turn out to be such a wide spread issue. I hope someone figures out what it is and how to fix it.

So i decided to take the door panel off of the rear door and take the black boot that has all the wires and as I was pulling the wires I saw some sparks. There is a large yellow wire that has a break in it with some exposed copper. I taped it up and put it back together hoping the speaker and lock would work but no go. So now I'm wondering if this has been shorting out how much damage could have been done. The window still works but no sound or lock. What would be my first step at a repair? How do fix that wire?

I posted this awhile ago on someone else's thread when they were having a similar issue and it turned out to be their problem also.

It could also easily be the wiring. I would use a voltmeter and test to make sure there is a signal getting there. Then, if there isn't check on the inside of the truck for a signal. I had a similar problem with my back passenger speaker not working. Where the rubber boot that carries the wires for the door meets the door jamb, there should be a plug. Unplug it and check that the wires to that point are getting power. Luckily I checked that before going any further because i had power there, so I knew it had to be between that plug and the speaker. When I pulled the rubber boot back I noticed half of the wires had been pinched and cut. I just soldered in little jumpers and heat shrinked around them individually and closed everything up and it worked like a charm. In fact it may be easier to try that first, just unplug the adapter and check there before having to take the door panel and everything off. Then you'll know if it's the speaker or wiring in the door, or something from there to the radio.

I have an 02 QC also, when i first got the truck, i was having issues as well, no sound from driver side rear speaker, lock wouldnt work, etc. After doing some research on the other dodge ram forum, i had found out a lot of people had this issue. So i did like some of you and check wiring in the door wiring boots, come to find out i had pinched and exposed wiring as well, BUT mine was in both driver side doors, front and rear door. I patched up the wiring and havent had an issue in over a year now. It must just be a poor design from Dodge. Hope this helps out!!

My problem is the yellow wire has a slice through the jacket and exposed the bare wire coming out of the truck before the harness and before the boot. The wire didn't look pinched at all. Its so close to the wire harness I'm not sure how to fix it.
