My truck is a 21 5500 that had an electrical fire/short circuit under the dash. Took the truck to the dealership and it has been there about 70 days total and they have replaced the BCM which they said was the culprit that melted down internally and have replaced the connectors and pins for the BCM. Replaced push start button. Reprogrammed all modules. All modules are online now but the engine cranks and wont start

Sounds like they are getting close to fixing it. You can't expect it to be an easy fix. The tech has to go down the line. Just the fact that they diagnosed the cause and now have it cranking is a big accomplishment. Sounds like they are getting close. With all that said, it's pretty common to just scrap a vehicle after a fire job. Most shops won't even attempt it. FWIW, I've repaired a number of fire jobs in my years and most were years ago. It just gets harder as the vehicles have more electronics and now have CAN systems.

I feel like after all this time and parts they’ve put into it and with all the technology they could have it running though. Are you able to take readings on the ECM and see what’s not communicating or where the dead end is? I work on tractors/heavy equipment and can’t wrap my head around having a issue like this
