Not sure if I'm missing something, have 14 Ram 1500 Express with uconnect 3.0 and a current subscriber to XM. When ever I have them send a activation signal, with the truck on it just says aquiring signal nothing changes. Not sure if I still need the antenna or not I assumed that the antenna was on top of the cab just behind drivers seat or if that's the radio antenna? Do I need to register with uconnect?

my 2014 has the antenna up front on the cab in the area where the clearance lights would be on the drivers side. You did call them with the new radio ID on ch 0 for activation ?

The XM antenna is the one on top , it's the black " puck" style . Sometimes aft sometimes fwd .

For the activation or refresh signal make sure the antenna is in clear view of the sky for satellite view .
Make sure no tall buildings or trees .
Hope this helps !

It won't let me switch to any channel when I hit the satellite button, just an aquiring signal message. I called support but the foreign lady that answered was useless. The antenna is in the clear, I'm going to try and disconnect the battery and see what that does. If anything I'll take it to the dealer.

you are right . On my 5.0 I noticed when in the garage I can't do anything channel wise . You should always be able to get ch1 being the preview channel when nothing is blocking the view and you need to be able to get to channel 0 to get the ID to get it turned on initially . SXM said they looked up my vin to see what radio was registered with that but in my case it didn't work . My issue was I was saying V and she thought I was saying Z and when she said the ID back to me she sounded like she was saying V so we went around for a while till one time it sounded like she was saying Z then we found the problem .

If you don't have an XM account, you could set one up and then just access your account and send yourself the refresh signal. I just did that for my radio. Saves the issues with the language barrier.

Just noticed that browse sxm isn't highlighted in the menu and won't let me select it. I did find that holding down the Menu button and the Radio button together brings up the "engineering mode"

Was not the case for me. I had an existing subscription that was registered to the radio in the Jeep I traded in earlier that day. I went online to my account and with the help of their chat room type help it was determined we could not make the switch online so the language barrier could not be avoided . It wasn't really a big deal and we both laughed when all was said and done plus I learned something that not everyone may know which is that the top of the line factory radio in my 2012 Jeep has an XM receiver and the one in my latest Ram( 2014) was a Sirius . You can tell which is which by the number of characters in the ID . I had no clue this day and age their are still two different radios . I had NASCAR ch on the Jeep (XM) but lost it when the subscription was switched to the Ram's 5.0 radio ( SIRIUS ) . I have since regained the NASCAR ch for a small cost ....

Which radio do you have? Mine is the 5.0 and I don't recall a menu button. Engineering mode sounds interesting

Scratch that I reread first post ....3.0
