Thanks Merc... Ok so I posted on another fourm about correct control arm lengths... Seems I read most makers only offer 1/2" over stock length... That length is used from a leveling kit all the way to a 5" coil... So I wanna know whos what and whats who about correct length for a 5" coil.??? Then I get this response...
If you want it to ride decent on the street, every day, you don't want a 5" short arm kit. If someone is telling you otherwise, they are either selling a 5" short arm, or have no clue what a good ride is. It's not required that you run long arms. Hell, I've seen trucks with over 6 inches of lift on short arms. I wouldn't want to ride across the parking lot in one..
Im personally not expecting a ride like my 2015 Cherokee, pretty sure its liveable... Should I look for a custom length?
Guys??
Off DOR site...
Our arms are built to order, which means we are able to make them in custom lengths specifically for your application. The default setting is 1/2" forward of the stock location, and we maintain this setting regardless of lift height (up to 6"). If you want to go further forward than that
Get ones the length Merc told you.
Long arms are superior to short arms for sure, there's no doubt about that. The trouble is they are not readily available for our trucks and will take some tracking down to get a hold of a set, plus cost more than short arms. Fabtech makes them for our truck, but you will have to call and custom order them IIRC. They will cost you a fair bit more than the short arms.
DOR arms will be good quality but most likely cost an arm and leg, maybe 2 legs.
DOR has a non adjustable long tube kit... 799.00 Comes with everything....Its a possible option... I just sold my 96 F350 CC powerstroke ..I built it with 9" on 37's... Road like a tank... Hated it after a couple years...
Thinking long tube arms is the way to go...
