Has anyone else had the issue I'm having. The dealer(I used to work there) told me they haven't seen it before. Others online said its a known issue. Take a look at my video and let me know. Thanks everyone.

Yes it's common with the black shrouds and why Ram has switched back to the chrome shrouds.

I put the new headlights in and still not sure if I like them yet cause I'm used to the black ones but I'm warming up to them I guess.

A guy local to me too the black housings and put a carbon fiber lining in them and it seems to be holding up fine. I painted my chrome ones and had an issue with the paint flaking off in the bezel in the same area with the factory projector, no issues now with the FXR swap.

Nope, it's just from how the oem projector's lens concentrates light (and heat) right at that spot. The chrome reflects the light/heat but the black absorbs it and begins to melt/wrinkle the material. Only fix is to swap the lens or place something between the lens and housing.

My 2015 lenses were wrinkled when i took delivery with 15 km on the odometer, i waited a bit then had them replaced with the chrome one which look better, dealer gave me the old ones and i sold them the next day

Its a shame that they didn't figure out a fix for them. I think they look so much better than the chrome but I guess ill have to deal.

That's pretty ******. They do look way better with the black..

Maybe take them a apart and use some high temp paint.

Have you called Retro Shop and asked if he's having problems with his painted headlights? Maybe he has the solution.
