I'm looking to change out my stock reverse bulbs for something brighter.
Any suggestions for a direct "plug & play" without using resistors?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Reverse lights aren't in the canbus so any led bulb will work
Retro solutions has a bulb specifically for 4th gen tails

They are good. I think I had mine over a year and no issues

2009-2012's the Retro LED's are great.

2013+ OEM LED tails....the Retro LED's are...just OK.

For the 2013+ OEM LED tails, the reverse lights were much better from the factory than the 2009-2012's.

Can't say I noticed a difference in the stock bulbs from my buddies '13 Laramie compared to my dad's '11
What has changed? Do you know if it's still the same bulb in the LED tails, I was just talking to my buddy about changing his out

I noticed a giant difference between my standard OEM tail light reverse lights and my '13+ OEM LED tail lights I installed.

Standard tail lights use a 921 bulb as the reverse light, and the '13+ OEM LED tails use a 7440 (?) type bulb. Much brighter.

Hey guys,

I ordered the Retro Solution LED's mentioned above. When I put them in the connectors, are the LED's supposed to face out to the side, or in towards the reflective silver in the housing?

Thanks

Crap. I faced them in, since I didn't think they should be pointing 90 degrees to each side of the truck.

they shouldn't........they should point right out the back. They ARE side specific.........so keep that in mind!

I didn't realize that. I'll try swapping sides and see if it helps.

Thanks
