I've been running the 9006 hella optilux extreme yellow bulbs for over a year now and they make a huge difference in the rain and snow. I'm thinking about putting the same Hellas in but in the 9005. Question is I know they would put out more light being 10w more but would it be useable light? And with the bulb having the tip not dipped would that through to much light up into the snow, or with it being yellow would it matter? Thanks for the help.

It will definitely be brighter. All you have to do is cut out the center guide notch thing so it will fit in the plug. I've been contemplating doing this when my current bulbs burn out, but that just hasn't happened yet. With snow, it will probably be pretty bright, but as you said, yellow might not be so bad.
