Silly question sort of...

How do I know/find out what gears are running in my truck? Is there a standard set of gears for all 1500s? I'm assuming not since there are base models, laramies, sports etc. Do I need to get my VIN # and search it up?? Thanks!

You can look it up by vin, but some trucks have a sticker on the axle that show your gear ratio. I would check for that sticker first. On my truck, it is on the passenger side of the rear axle.

I know there is a tag in the glove box that tells me the axle and gear ratio

best thing to do is contact Dodge for a build sheet. Then, you'll know everything the truck came with, from the factory. It normally just takes overnight to get it to you...
