Lol! That's true... but I have lost count which build # it is! :)

For my Ram friends, here is what is going into the Jeep:

Hertz Mille 2way
Sundown 10" Zv.4 Rev.2, down firing in ported box with 2,000 watts rms :naughty:
MiniDsp and a couple amps

Haha! I figured since the Wrangler is a terrible platform for SQ, screw it, I am going with LAO (loud and obnoxious)!

With the top and doors off, and the windshield down it will be like an open air concert!

Those Hertz ml1600 are awesome they give out some good midbass. Why not the three way?

Maybe I missed it, but where you putting the speakers? In the factory locations? I HATE those cheap plastic pods in the dash, I do like the tweeter mounts though lol.

Thanks! I remember how awesome and powerful my first Hertz Hi-Energy set was and these are a step up from those... :naughty:

I want/need to keep everything out of sight in factory locations, because the top will be off half the year... You know how people are around here. :puke:

Yes, in factory locations. The pods aren't perfect, but I'll throw a little poly-fill in them, and some cld around the outside and they should do fine. If not they'll be replaced. I know a guy with the ML1600s in the pods and he swears it's fantastic...

Btw, the 2016 does not have those grave stone looking tweeter mounts... Which I am happy about, because the tweets will be concealed in the dash.

I mainly work with entry-level stuff but they never seem to sound as good as free-air in a door when we put them in the pods. I hope it works out good for you, makes for an easy install. Did 2016 switch to the round covers?

Cool. I think it was 2015 where they switched to the covers...

I haven't looked yet, but I have two pairs of the tweeter pods below and I am wondering if there is a way to install them inside the dash while still keeping the factory cover in tact... :hmm:

This would give me the ability to aim them and re-adjust them as needed. Brilliant! Lol!

More sound deadening. 2/3 of the interior is on my garage floor!

Now I'm ready for ccf, c'mon Amazon...

There's a rattle in the ******* tailgate that I just can't track down. Using the "pound with my fist" test, of course.

Sure enough! The aluminum pods I have are going to work perfect!

I hollowed out the factory mids to use as a baffle for the tweeters. With a little filing and grinding, the pods fit nice and snug and allow me to easily aim them tweets on axis or off any direction I want with the flick of a wrist. :naughty:

David that looks great and I bet your tailgate latch is rattling. I just want to caution again the ML1600s will have a really smooth mid bass to them. They don't have that peaky thump that the high energy set has. Best example I can give is your BM subs, lots of sound and very little distortion.

Great, that sounds perfect! Keep in mind too, they are going inside sealed pods under the dash, vs IB in the doors... I'm not sure how this will affect the sound, though.

Because they are going in small enclosures, is one of the reasons I wanted the ML1600s for their high QTS rating.

On a different note, I got some 12 gauge Knukonceptz Karma speaker wire for this build, and damn it is massive!!!

Meant to be?

Not unlike their subwoofers, Sundown amps are built big, heavy and powerful. Plus, they are really nice looking. :naughty:

I am going to get rid of the storage box and cover in the trunk, carpet over the sound deadener, and put this beauty on display... :hmm:
