Hey I wanted to replace the tail light bulbs on my 98 ram 1500 with led bulbs, would they fit in the harnesses directly and if so how do I find out which bulb.

I went to auto zone .. they have LED bulbs for $20 bucks
Direct fit .. just take in the old bulb or part number of the bulb and match it up.
Your blinkers will run faster .. keep that in mind .

Will they run fast like when a light is out? Why will they do that?

Yep that's what they will do. I believe it is because the led lights have a lower resistance.

a 50w6ohm resisitor will fix that.
