Default I could use some help
So I have a 2000 ram 1500, 5.2L 318 v8 with 147,000 miles on it. The truck is basically stock except for a new radiator and spark plugs, I've also had a good amount of mechanical issues fixed and I haven't had any issues with my engine or exhaust system. The truck sits on some old school 16in American Racing rims that are wide and the tires are spaced out about an inch or so. I drive it mostly on the highway a few hours each day for work, I don't do much zipping around in the city, and I don't plan on racing it. I want to keep it for about 5 years or so.
I could use some help on deciding what I can do to my engine in order to preserve it's life, I really just want to give it better air flow and help it fly through the gears smoother. I also need some ideas on what my exhaust system should look like in order to make it sound badass without losing any torque. (I want a dual) I do plan on getting 20in rims and off road tires but I'm not sure if I should get a lift kit or install a leveling kit.
Thanks for the help.

welcome. first thing you should probably check is the plenum to see if you got the stock steal plenum pan. if so you may possibly want to pull the intake and replace the gasket to make sure there is no future issues.
Plenum Gasket: What is it, where is it and what should I do about it? *INFO*

as far as dual exhaust goes it is really not worth it. you would need x pipe or something where the 2 pips meet so that you can get a good o2 sensor reading. really not worth the cost. you are better off with a high flow cat and a nice muffler. that would likely give you the sound you want at a fraction of the cost.

Larger tb, maybe port the runners of the kegger, some shorties and a tune with a high flow cat swapped into the factory position, muffler of choice and cat back duals will give you the look and performance you're looking for

That performance will go down as tire/wheel size increases as well as weight increases.

A good example is factory 245/75/16 ATs weigh about 40lbs new each without a wheel. 265/75/16 MTs however weigh about 65lbs each. It makes a massive difference being as your rotational mass is greatly increase as is rotational diameter
