Interesting read in regards to the hemi. Prepare to pay more for the hemi, but in happy they will try to keep it for the trucks.

"FCA executives have hinted or said that V8s will be premium options; an early presentation made it clear that they were moving towards “two fewer cylinders and a turbo” across the board, so V6 buyers would get a four-cylinder turbo, V8 buyers would get a six-cylinder turbo, etc. This is a general industry trend; four-cylinder turbos are producing over 300 horsepower with smooth torque curves, meeting or beating naturally aspirated V6 engines, with lower weight and less space needed."

"V8 buyers would get a six cylinder turbo" .. lol then they would not be "V8 buyers"

Lets put a turbo on the Hemi, that would be something for a V8 buyer.. :)

Glad I have a Hemi V8 and hope it last me for a life time because if they keep going down that path will be down to just 4 cylinders and no more V8s at all.

They did already announce the hemi will be discontinued by a projected 2021 I believe was the year. They are having to do to much to meet emissions standards with the hemi, it was a news article I read.

I'm sad to see the Pentastar will be going away. Great MPG, quiet, minimal maintenance intervals, easy oil changes, 87 octane. It's truly a great little motor for a daily driver.

I doubt the Pentastar will be going away. The Pentastar will be the v6 getting a pair of snails. Look up the specs on the engine, it has 6 bolt mains and oil squirters that spray the underside of the piston with oil to reduce detonation.

What is a pair of snails? Are you saying it will be turbo? Regardless, I like the pentastar the way it is.

Snails=turbos. Just a phrase people use because they look somewhat similar.

I recorded a video of one I seen in the freeway. Here's a screen capture of the front end

I'm really looking forward to the new DTs. While i'm brand agnostic, RAM really spoke to me with their innovative featureset combined with value pricing; the combo made me a 4th Gen owner.

Build quality could use help but it's no worse than ford, according to the latest data I've seen.

I'm looking forward to seeing a lot of the 4th Gen shortcomings addressed as well as fresh ideas for the 5th gen.

Larger screen - shift knob is still there - half the forum is going to be disappointed with that. Electronic parking brake and bigger TFT screen in bezel.... looking promising.

I think they will update the pentastar with a little more power and leave it N/A in some applications, but they will also offer a twin turbo version as well. I wouldn't mind trying out a twin turbo Pentastar, but I'm looking forward to a hemi in my next truck.

Sorry, but I'm not impressed in the slightest. Look, people will love this. People still believe in the current style. But let's be factual here... RAM has milked this design for 8 years. The '19 model is nothing more than a refresh. Meanwhile, Ford, Chevy, even Nissan have updated their trucks sometimes yearly. While ram Gamble's on their design. It's the same damn truck. The competition is innovating and ****, and RAM is milking it's cash cow. It's time for a change. RAM needs to come out of the gates with something new.

If the current truck is successful why would they drastically change it? Chevy and Ford have also not done any major redesigns since the current gen came out a few years ago, it has just been small refreshes. People who buy Ram are tired of or dislike the bland boxy styling of the other two.

Someone didn't do their homework. This next gen model is coded DT. It's a redesign and not a refresh. Here is the Wikipedia breakdown of the models for ya
