Rode hard. Put away wet. Well maintained.

Shouldn't have a problem.

Anyone have a diagram for cylinder placement? I'm doing my plugs and wires tomorrow and wanna do em right.

Oh, and torque specs and pattern for the tb and Intake mani? I gotta clean those out...

Since I haven’t been driving it waxed out all the scratches from my last off-road adventure and I received my brackets for my middle seat and my weather tech mats once I install seats and mats I will take picsa5e6e5cb957b48be20c7bf20c1e238b1.jpg

Got me a score today, got me a like new full bedrug for less than $200!

2d1dfa91e5576683d51cf866599bf44c.jpg

Ive had one in my blue truck and just have it trimmed to fit around the handle on the inside of the tailgate and for the frame notches, this ine is going in the black truck and ill be doing the same trimming in it, ill us it untill i redo the full raised bed floor...

Also now that the black trucks bed is done for the time being, I started on the shaved tailgate for my red truck, now through my network of body guys, they told me a trick that me and my body guy are gona try out, and thats to use panel adhesive instead of welding the filler in, it sounded odd to me at first but they have shown me where they made it work, pretty easily, if you dont know what this stuff is, its the stuff they use to glue panels back onto cars, like replacement roof panels from hail damage, the crazy thing is thats this stuff is proven to be stronger than a weld when fully cured...

So we got the panel glued in, it has to cure for 24 hours, im gona give it till next friday since thats my next day i can be in the shop, and start the body working process.

The benefit of doing it this way (if it works like its supposed to) it keeps the metal from warping when welding in the fillers and the result is MUCH less finish work to make it smooth.

But anyways here is a few pix of how it looks now...

Again...as before...just tighten them down. You don’t need to torque your throttle body...it’s going into a plastic manifold, so just snug them up so you don’t strip them out. It’s as simple as you can possibly get tightening a bolt down. If you think you are going to take out the intake manifold to clean it, you have to pull off the ac compressor and alternator, the intake doesn’t have enough room to remove it with the accessories in the way
Cylinder numbers are odd on the driver side, even on the passenger side. Front cylinders is 1 (driver) and 2 (passenger). 1-3-5-7, 2-4-6-8. Depending on how much you paid for your wires, you should just take them back and get the Taylor shorties. Only about $60 and you’ll really like getting rid of the rats nest

I'll check the receipt, but I heard bad things about those causing idle and cold weather issues. I've decided I'm not pulling the intake manifold based on your info, though. Just gonna do plugs and the tb.

Question: do you have to program the truck in any way to be able to run on the shorties? Way I heard the ignition system worked was that one cylinder somewhere else would fire on exhaust to make a cylinder on compression get two sparks at once.

Doesn't that mean that the system needs to be told to work differently? Or are the Taylor's just a jumper wire from the active coil to the plug next to it just how it looks like? And if so, why are they reportedly causing poor idle and cold weather performance?

The normal long spark plug wires make the plug fire once on the opposite side of the engine on the exhaust stroke. It’s just a b.s. emissions gimmick that didn’t really seem to work out all that great. You don’t need any tuning whatsoever to run them. I’ve been driving the truck since January in Ohio (really cold) without issue. I’ve had a rough idle for awhile when it was below 25 but I attribute that to cam/stroker/tuning in cold weather, most guys said their trucks run rough in the cold. Besides, you’re in Florida, idk why you’re worried about cold weather.

I forgot to mention having to remove the fuel line from the rail to get the manifold out as well. That alone will get a sane man committed, boy is that a pain

I might venture out yonder or move house. Never know. But yeah, definitely leaving the mani on. **** it. I'll take it off and replace it if I ever do a nice shaved one like you did.

Mine will be for sale soon when I do the eagle head/intake swap in a few months. Hopefully I can sell it to someone who will appreciate it, I’m not gonna ask for too much $$

Fuel rail removal would give you an excuse to clean the injectors. Theres some good DIY videos on cleaning them out with carb cleaner using plastic syringes. [emoji106]

All in due time.

****, I paid 66.49 these wires (DISCOUNTED price!) and I could get THESE for basically the same price (normal price).

https://www.summitracing.com/parts/tay-79610

And that's before contacting Nick. Safe to say I'm taking this **** back, lol.

Anyone else have experience with the shorties? Any issues? In the cold?
