Got my yearly inspection sticker this morning.

What a ******* scam that is. Pay 35 bucks every year to have someone inspect your vehicle. ESPECIALLY on a newer model vehicle. Government at it's finest. Take as much money as you can form the working American. Stupid.

Here in NY the fee is capped at $21, most of which the state gets for the sticker. The inspection shop (which are all private mechanics, dealers, etc) gets about $10 of that so it's a money looser for them. To make up for it, they "find" issues. Safest way is to go to one of the oil change/inspection shops that have no mechanics, they tend to "find" far fewer things, since they can't make any money "fixing" them.

Same here in Sweden, and they find all the power adders and stuff (if you put on lika a super chager) so you don't get the "sticker" and can't use the vehicle :(

Here in Europe you can't change a thing on a car from. 2006 or newer if you should go by the book.

I pay 20.00 cash for emissions testing every 2 years. Which is laughable because all of my vehicles are 2011 or newer, so emissions are really a non-issue.

And on my AWD G37 they dont even roll test it since very few places want to pay for a 4WD dyno. They just scan it with an OBD scanner and if it comes back clean it passes.

A while ago our state DMV in its brilliance decided to make inspection stations not state owned, so small garages, etc can have bay(s) dedicated to emissions testing. I would imagine thats a money sink for them too.

Detailed the interior plastics (dash pad, instrument and radio cluster, glove box and door panels), cleaned the hell outta my windows inside and out (invisible glass) and replaced map, dome & license lights with LEDs.

Installed a BlackVue 750 2 channel dash cam. Thanks to all the other posters here, y’all showed me how to use the clutch plate to get through the fire wall and how to use fuse taps!
