2007 Ram 1500 Tail Light Ram covers scratched badly

They look like they have been sand blasted. Streaks all over, but absolutely no paint scratching near them. Can I just remove them and go without them, or are they a single unit with the tail lights? It's odd to me, but both headlights have similar pitting/scratching on the tops of them as well.

You could try wet sanding them and re coating them. They sell kits at most auto parts stores. Or buy new ones. All the more reason to go aftermarket and get the ones you REALLY want. lol
