The day you return said rental, through the dealer's showroom window?

Almost, I went down there and raised hell. Got a 7 day extention, they were even so nice they offered to put me in a new truck for the low price of mine and an extra 20k. *****

How many miles are on your current truck?

So the difference between the two trucks you're looking at is:

2016 vs 2017
6.4 vs 6.7
? vs 0 miles

Ok looking over my paper work I paid 46,750 for my truck, they are offering me 38 on trade for a truck that I currently cannot use. So I'm at 8750 depreciation on a truck I put 21,000 miles on and drove for 16 months.

Well, if you lemon your current truck, it's my understanding that the lemon law usually pays you what you bought the truck for, minus mileage and amount of time you were driving it during ownership. The other lemon option is the manufacturer has to put you in a comparable truck for free. You have several options.

Lemon the truck and require Ram to put you in a comparable working truck. This option could take a long time.

Lemon the truck and try to get your money back. 46750 minus mileage and time in truck. So 21,000 time the standard federal rate of .55/mile would be 11500 plus whatever they take for time of ownership. This option would also take a long time.

Trade the truck in at the dealership. You said they're offering you 38K, are they wanting 56K for the 2017 6.7?

Personally, if the 6.4 works for purposes, I would want my truck back. Adding another 18k to your note, because of their screw up, doesn't seem right. If it's under warranty, I don't understand why you wouldn't get a loaner until it's fixed.

The more I think about it, the more I think you're getting dicked around. They currently have your truck, and are telling you that you only have another 5 days on your loaner? What happens after that? If they still have your truck, they need to be paying your payments. They have your truck, you can't use it, and you're making monthly payments on it. Now they're threatening to take back your loaner?

Sounds like you need to start getting nasty with Ram Corporate or the dealer, or both.

I don't have any payments, paid cash. The dealership service people are doing everything they can. It's corporate that sucks

Gotcha. In that case, if they take back your loaner, Ram should essentially start making payments to you for the time they have your truck. Have you tried the "RamCares" member on this board? Maybe they can help.

Don't be to fast to blame corprate - The dealer is the one with the loaner vehicles - they can just a easily give u a loaner ... hence why u see dealer guys running around in brand new vehicles with dealer plates. -

Keep us posted
