Do you think it matters that I have a 2015 ram 1500 and the ra4 I put in is from a 2015 ram 2500?

The 2014 RA4 in my truck is out of a 2500 too, no problems. Now I did have a few problems with my 15 radio. It lives in my basement now

Hmm, I just can't for the life of me figure out why the software won't update properly

Should I just take it to a dealer? Will they give me a hard time about swapping the radio?

Ok disregard, I have an older version of the firmware I was going to share with you from my Google Drive, but it's for 13-14 radios.

Where did you get the radio? Dealer will probably tell you to kick rocks though.

If your cool with possibly not ever being able to update it then keep it. Id send it back. Thing is to expensive to accept anything else.

It should only do that one time after the factory reset. Then it should switch to the Ram branding...

Ok, I did try a factory reset so that could be the reason.

I just talked to the service department at me dealer. They say you cannot swap these radios and that it will good the factory warranty because the radio controls much of the vehicle. This seems crazy to me, what do you all think?

My radio was out of a 2014 2500 Ram. My truck is a 2014 1500 that originaly had an RA2 radio. It never showed the SRT emblem when I installed it. It went strait to the Rams head emblem. These radios work perfectly in these trucks. My truck came with the RA2 so my settings for my truck were already done through my radio. The RA1 trucks have a lot of there settings in the E.V.I.C but still work fine. Hundreds of people have done this upgrade as well as myself and it all works as it should. When Ram came out with these radios in 2013 they put out a release saying the the radios are not compatible with any other truck than the one it came in. We know this to be untrue. I am assuming the dealers only know what they have been told by Chrysler. Chrysler obviously would rather have us buy a more expensive truck instead of upgrading yours. I have had my truck in on a few occasions for warranty work and nothing has been mentioned about it. The less you tell them.or ask them the better. You can always stick your stock radio back in before you take it in for warranty work.if you are concerned that they at have a problem with it. As far as the updating issue. I know a lot of times they get the radios mixed up and say they are out of the wrong vehicle and even the wrong year. I think.the Jeeps and others take different Firmware than the Ram so that might be your problem but I am not sure on that one. Some else may know for sure.

Mine showed SRT until 2-3 full power cycles then changed to RAM.
