Lost all control. Nothing I could have done. And ended up like this. Air bags did not deploy. Should they have? Looking at the damage, I say they should have.

They should have, in theory, but your situation is not the first I've seen where the bags didn't deploy with that type of impact.

Glad to hear you're okay but what's next?

I was not going too fast. Just the perfect set of circumstances I guess.

And yes, i'm fine. I was honestly surprised at the damage based on how the impact felt!

Our trucks do have a lot of space up front behind the grill. Maybe its not as bad as it looks.

^ Yeah that's what I was thinking. I know the fan shroud is touching the pulleys. So it's in there.

Sorry for you accident!

There are a string of criteria that have to be met before the air bags will deploy, one of the largest is the intensity of the impact.

It looks like your fenders are still lining up straight, hard to tell for sure.

Yeah I think it was just the front end. Fenders are alright. Just front end and hood. Maybe it wasn't intense enough!

So, the front clip moved in with the radiator. If no frame damage, def repairable. You'll have to wait and see what insurance adjuster says.

Yes, from what I looked at, the frame looks fine.

the air bag sensors are usually located in the mounting brackets for bumpers on older vehicles... so if you missed the brackets they wont really go off. if you hit a car with the same lose of control, since it is a flat surface the airbags probably would have gone off. since you hit the pol in the middle of the bumper, it is a very small impact zone your bumper mounts probably stayed in tack and that's probably why.

with newer vehicles, they have g sensors. if they get set off then the airbags go off. take the camaro for example. the new camaro airbags are controlled on g sensors. if you try to drift them and the axle catches and you slide the rear end to the opposite side you started the drift, the airbags go off because of that force. it is a very popular video on youtube and you can check it out.

with this being said, theoretically the airbags should have gone off, but because of where the pole hit they didn't trip the sensors. if it was a new dodge the airbags probably would have went off.

I am sorry for your lose hopefully the insurance company works things out with you without any trouble!

Wow, sorry for the loss, maybe for the best? Don't know your situation but might work out in the end.

Always glad to see people walk away from any accident and keep us updated with the insurance.

Yeah, I'm glad the truck held up. I'm sure I could have driven it away. Awkwardly. haha I am on the phone with the insurance company right now, scheduling an inspection and everything else.
