Its good the air bags didn't go off. Apparently, they weren't needed, and now you don't need to replace them. I would make the bodyshop that does the work verify they are working tho.

Very good point. And yes, of course I will have them checked. From what I described on the phone, they say it sounds like a total loss. But, that doesn't mean much.

Its gonna depend on $$ to repair vs what they value the truck at. Mileage, etc. If frame isn't damaged, it would be a shame to total it.

I'd say, new bumper, hood, grille and radiator core support.

Showed my girlfriend your picture of the accident and it went something like this

Me: Take a look at this picture
Her: Wow, that sucks! How is he?
Me: He said he was ok, no problems
Her: No, I mean, HOW is he? (meaning pissed or calm)

Do you want to total it or want it fixed? Would you care either way?

Well Id like it fixed so I have something to drive! But at the same time.... Id like a reason for a new truck! But that would be longer.

eh...that'll buff out....

Judging by the pic, I would say minimum bumper, grill, rad. support, radiator, hood....

Get a new bumper like the one I am looking at: www.goboondock.com

Worth the price and most definitely would have given the pole the what for. I am looking to buy one of their bumpers myself, the 85 series. Need some better protection up front with my new property.

Forgot to say this in both my posts. Glad that you are alright, but your poor truck most definitely needs some love now.

The impact was not that hard. Like I said, I was surprised when I got out and saw how far in the pole was.

Glad you're okay. You can see why the damage is so extensive when you lift the sheet metal hood and look at nothing but radiator and bumper in a Ram. If your doors still open okay, your frame probably isn't bent. New parts and a front end color match should be less than a total--unless you have cut rate insurance (not an add for Allstate, just fact).

Welll...bad news. Really bad. Issues between my finance company and insurance have me in a position of no coverage. Apparently I had limited collision. Back and forth between them for a while. I guess I will just fix it myself. As long as I get it out of the tow yard fast, before the fees really add up.

I know! I'm trying to get it resolved. It's ridiculous.

Geez. Sorry for the loss and glad your ok. You probably could have been going slower tho. I know. 20-20 hindsight. Backseat driver. LOL

Wow.. Thats a douchy reply. Didnt realize you were there to determine his rate of speed?

OP, glad youre okay. I had a similar accident years ago in my 98 explorer and my bags went off. Yours should have as well.
