I have a 2014 Ram, bright white, that I just want to take the dealer emblem off. My concern is, since its been on there since June of last year, or whenever it arrived to the dealership, will it leave an image in the paint. I know on darker colors it can due to fading, but what do you guys think about what would happen on the white paint? is the "ghosting" an issue or should I be okay?

I think it would be totally fine. If anything maybe a little wax to shine the area up. I removed my badges after almost 2 years with no ill effects.

Meguiars paint cleaner works pretty well but if you had to go any deeper you would need a polishing compound.

I may just take it to a detail shop. He quoted $20 but I never went back. I think $20 would be worth it.

It will be fine. Just take some fishing line and use a sawing motion behind the badge. The friction will cut through the double sided tape. Then use some goo gone or rub the residue with your finger to get it off. Finally just polish the area with simple car polish and your done.

I took the badges off one of my old cars. 10 year old car, no paint fade.

You're fine.

Just like what others said. It will look fine since your truck is not too old, and just polish it after debadging.

Cool, thanks everyone. I may do it this weekend. I'll have to find the time between taking the kids to sports and yard work!

Its easy.
Take a piece of fishing line and work it back and forth underneath. Ditch the stealership emblem and rub off any residual adhesive. If there is any color difference at all, either give it a polishing compound rub before waxing, or just wax it.

I just took mine off last weekend. It was a hard plastic dealership badge. I heated it up with a heat gun than used fishing line in a sawing motion and it popped right off. I than used goo gone and slowly peeled away the glue. Waxed it after and now it looks great.
